Bipasha in shock as stranger gropes her breasts!

Mumbai: Bipasha Basu had a quite horrendous Durga Puja celebration this time for the actress was groped by a stranger at a Durga Puja pandal.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Bipasha, who is a staunch Bengali, decided to participate in the Durga Puja festivities at The North Bombay Sarvojonin Durga Puja in Santacruz with boyfriend John Abraham.

“Bipasha and John came together for the Durga Puja in the evening and Bipasha was very excited as has always been part of Durga Pujas in Mumbai over the years. Just after the darshan, she was near the stage when some pervert groped her breasts. Bipasha, of course, was taken aback and flew into a fit of rage. People around her tried to calm her down. John too was present there and he whisked her away to calm her down. She even wanted to lodge a police complaint. However, she had second thoughts. As for the sick man, he quietly and promptly ran away, taking advantage of the commotion”, said an eyewitness.

Bipasha had gone to the pandal (being managed by Rani Mukerji) on Rani’s invitation and the last thing she was expecting was to be left feeling sick at such a shameful incident.

Well, all that we can say is the fact that if such a thing can happen to a top-notch actress, then what about a common woman?

She could predict John's film through its promo and when she watched the promo of ‘New York’, she told John that it’s gonna to be a hit.

'She is otherwise extremely critical of my films and especially my performances', says a relieved John, 'She has a knack of telling what the film is worth of by merely looking at its promos. In the past too she has predicted the box office performance of my films and has been cent percent right in her assessment. After seeing glimpses of NEW YORK, she told me that 'John, be ready to be appreciated’, added John.

Bips not only accolades John but also appreciated Katrina Kaif and Neil Nitin Mukesh.

John is foolish: Bipasha Basu

Bollywood hunk John Abraham fractured his foot while shooting a day-long cricket match for David Dhawan's Hook Ya Crook and he will sport a cast for a month. The actor says it won't affect any of his films' shooting.

"I really wouldn't like to talk about it. But yes I'm in a lot of pain. Fortunately, no film is going to get affected," said John, who met with the accident recently.

A close friend of the actor says that he continued shooting despite the fracture.

"The hard ball shot straight through the air and bang into John's right foot and he heard a distinct crack. John knew something had gone awfully wrong in his foot. But he continued shooting throughout the day because he didn't want to disrupt David's schedule which required special permission for outdoor shooting," the friend said.

It was only after the day's shooting that John, by then cringing in pain, sat down to examine the damage.

"The foot had swollen to twice its normal size. It wasn't just a pulled muscle or a torn ligament as John had hoped. It was a fracture. And by playing cricket on the injured foot John made it worse," said the friend.

After pack up, John walked to his car, drove off to the doctor who finally told him what he suspected the whole day. Now his foot is in a cast for a month.

Fortunately, for the actor there's no shooting to be completed. The next one month is devoted to acting workshops for Abbas Tyrewala which he can somehow limp through.

John's girlfriend Bipasha feels he shouldn't have continued shooting with injured foot.

"It's sad. But John was foolish to keep on playing when his foot was hurt instead of getting it checked," she said.

Last week has been tough on the actor.

"He was down with a severe viral fever followed by the whole unsavoury link up with Katrina Kaif. Then John lost his uncle. And now his foot is fractured. Hopefully, this is the climax of his crises," said his friend.

Vijender Singh admits life has changed beyond belief. He now knows he attracts the sort of attention his fave stars do. “I adore Akshay Kumar for his toned body, while I like the way Abhishek Bachchan dresses. I am trying to be as fit as Akshay,” says Vijender, who loves
to shop for jeans, jackets and T-shirts.

The boxing sensation from Bhiwani finds himself spending increasingly more time on the Internet and on networking sites. “If I’m not practising, I like to surf the Net. This way, I stay updated and also know about my fans and what people expect from me. After all, I’m a youth icon now,” he says. The boxer also has a fancy for gadgets and his prized possessions include a laptop, an iPod and two mobile phones.

Now that he’s such an eligible bachelor, what about marriage? “Marriage will happen only after the 2012 Olympic gold, which is my topmost priority,” he says. But he knows what sort of girl he’d like for a life partner. “I want a simple girl who can adjust with my family and our values,” he says. We bring up his much-publicised attraction for Bipasha Basu. “Someone like Bipasha can’t adjust in a family like mine. I can like Bipasha, but not marry her,” says Vijender.

He insists that his lifestyle has changed after the Olympics, but not the way he views life. “I’m very grounded and my parents still discipline me as they always did. I still spend most of my free time with my old friends who are always there for me. As for the fame, it’s a big responsibility. I am accountable to all Indians. I’ve used my star status to get pukka roads laid in my village,” he adds.
There’s, however, something about being famous that Vijender abhors. “I don’t like travelling and hated the Bharat Darshan I undertook after winning the bronze. I would rather spend time in my village,” he rues.

Meanwhile, he has big plans for the future. “I want to enter politics at some point and am also open to offers from Bollywood and modelling,” says Vijender, who already has friends like Govinda and Akshay Kumar in the industry. But all that will have to wait till after the 2012 Olympics.

Bipasha Hollywood Break

Bipasha Basu has reportedly taken up a Hollywood project, which was earlier rejected by Kareena Kapoor.

The film, titled “Chaimera”, is a thriller and will be directed by Daniel Silverman who made “The Devil Wears Prada”. It will be produced by music director-turned-producer Tabun.

“Chaimera” is said to star Billy Zane and Bipasha in the lead. And what's more, it seems Bipasha has been paid well in advance for the movie.

She is said to be playing an Asian character in the film, which is to be shot in India.

In an interview to a tabloid Bipasha said, "I don`t speak to Katrina because of the vibes we share. I get no vibe from her, so I am going to behave in the same fashion. I am not here to make friends. There is no catfight, we work together and it is professional but we don`t speak. I can`t dissect the reasons but I am like this. If you show me you are a friendly, fun co-star, I will behave in the same fashion. There is no equation between Katrina and me, there`s no animosity either. To each his own is what I say".

Well, not that all this really bothers Katrina, she has an endless list of ‘good friends’ in her kitty, just that it’s only men!

Asked how she felt about John flaunting his well-toned body in “Dostana”, Bipasha said: “Ranbir Kapoor showed his bum in ‘Saawariya’. How come no one raised any eyebrows? It was not so drastic with John.

“He has a fantastic body. If a woman on a beach is appreciated, why not a man on the beach? If you are comfortable with your body and you can carry it off with grace like John did, why not? I’m proud of what John has achieved. I’ve been with him from the time we shot ‘Aetbaar’ and ‘Jism’. We started dating while shooting for ‘Aetbaar’.”

Bipasha, who turned 30 Wednesday, said she was really proud of her bikini shot in “Dhoom 2″.

“At no point did I look cheesy. There was no heaving thrusting. It was just a healthy shot of a woman on the beach. Incidentally, I came out of the water in ‘Jism’ wearing a thick white dress. Such was the impact that people think I wore a bikini.”

Bipasha said she was pretty happy with her achievements last year.

“It’s been a fantastic year for me, both personally and professionally. Family is great. Boyfriend is great. Everything is fine. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

“I’m actually surprised the year went so well. I even got time to watch my niece and nephew grow. Yes, I’ve spent one more beautiful year productively.”

Told that she needs to have children of her own, Bipasha said: “No, no I don’t have the patience for kids. I can’t bear to have my seven-year-old nephew around for more than two hours. He’s a talkative brat.

“My one-year-old niece is an item number. She dances superbly to the worst songs. So, yes, another actress coming up in my family. And she’s the first light-eyed fair-skinned Basu girl in the family.”

Bipasha was caught in the 26/11 terror attack

"I feel vulnerable and helpless. That's why I haven't spoken until now," says Bipasha Basu softly.

Bipasha was returning from Film City on 26/11 when she was caught in the blast. "It happened at Vile Parle as I crossed the area. There was mayhem on the road as my staff and I sat huddled in our car wondering what to do next. Should we go forward? Or go back? I told my driver to drive in the middle of the road as fast as possible."

Three weeks down the line, and as the city nurses its wounds, Bipasha wonders what she can do to help the situation. "I've been extremely affected by 26/11. I haven't spoken to anyone about it until now.

I don't know how I can ease the pain of Mumbai. Everyone wants to put forward more than just a point of view. But no one seems to know what to do. I do believe in the mass movement that Mumbai has been seeing over the last three weeks. I think people lighting candles, holding hands, showing their solidarity speaking out...it's all very effective."

Bipasha was skeptical to begin with. "I thought this movement would die down after the first few days. But now I feel it's not losing momentum. And I'm very happy about that. The media is playing a very important part in keeping the movement against terrorism alive. I must admit I thought it would be over after one Sunday. That's why I kept quiet."

But now Bipasha believes in the power of people. "I just hope it continues. If the people's voice continues to be heard whichever government comes into power will be forced to pay heed and provide us with basic security.

Sure, our economy is booming and the industries are doing well. But what do we do without security in Mumbai? If the financial capital of India which generates the maximum taxes is hit, how do we sustain global confidence in our country?"

Bipasha can't believe that ten terrorists could do this to Mumbai. "What happened to Mumbai is a shame for the entire country. I went out socially for the first time this week. Life must go on.

The important thing is to not forget the lessons that we've learnt from 26/11. Now I feel far less defeated far more optimistic about the future than I did the first few days after Mumbai was attacked.

Mumbai won't forget. We have Zero security in the country. Otherwise how could there be continuous blasts all over the city for so many hours? And if the detonated RDX had not been discovered in time, it could have been worse."

Bipasha caught up with a film on the Mumbai blasts. "I saw Neeraj Pandey's A Wednesday after 26/11. I can't believe it's so sensitive and so prophetic. Like Naseeruddin Shah being pushed into destroying terrorism the Common Man is ready take action. A Wednesday should be a textbook on terrorism. All of us should see it and learn its lessons."

Jism 2 will launch three new faces and bodies

Five years after Bipasha Basu and John Abraham scorched the screen in Jism, Shagufta Rafique, screenwriter for the much-hyped sequel to the film, says part two will be about infidelity and will launch three new faces with great bodies.

"Since Jism was all about the human body and keeping up with the tradition of Vishesh Films' launching new talent, we'll take a completely new and absolutely raw cast for Jism 2. We'll launch three new faces and three great bodies in three newcomers in the film," Rafique revealed.

Released in 2003, Jism was an unexpected box office success and the launch vehicle of Bollywood heartthrob John. The film gave a boost to John and Bipasha's careers and both got tagged as sex symbols.

While the first was written by Mahesh Bhatt, Jism 2 is being written by Rafique, who holds to her credit films like Woh Lamhe, Awarapan and the box office dud Dhokha.


Asked about the plot of Jism 2, she said: "Like the previous Jism, part two will concentrate on the issue of infidelity and it will be a murder mystery. I have already started working on the film and Pooja (Bhatt) will be directing it."

Loosely based on Lawrence Kasdan's Body Heat (1981), Jism was directed by Amit Saxena and also starred Gulshan Grover, Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey.

Rafique added that Pooja Bhatt and Sujit Kumar, who produced Jism, would soon be starting a Jism franchise.
"The franchise will be a series of erotic and passionate films, but with different stories. We in fact have 10 scripts ready on the same with us.


"Jism was a big success as a brand. Pooja opened a Pandora's box with the film in the industry. Soon everyone started making films on the body. But the film's got to do with passion, love and lust and to live up with its brand, we'll come out with a Jism franchise altogether," Rafique said.

Apart from Jism 2, she has also wrote the scripts for upcoming films such as Raaz - The Mystery Continues, Sincity and Jashnn.

The buzz is that both the ladies have been approached by Sony to judge 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa'. Though none of them have been confirmed as yet, the inside news is that the judge will be offered a whopping 2.5 crores to judge the show. Since the money involved is huge, both Juhi and Bipasha do not want to let this opportunity slip off their hands.
