Bipasha Basu’s wish to do an action role has been fulfilled. The lady has bagged a plum role in Abbas-Mastan’s Hindi remake of the 2003 Hollywood thriller ‘The Italian Job’.

Just recently, Bipasha had expressed her itching desire to do an action role after a spate of serious, character-based roles in her recent films. Well, the wish has been granted. She will reportedly play a femme fatale in the movie titled Players which will be the official remake of The Italian Job.

From what we learn, the makers of the film saw the rushes of Rohan Sippy’s upcoming film Dum Maaro Dum which has Bipasha playing a Goan junkie. Moreover, Bipasha’s spunky performance in Dhoom 2 was also in their mind.

Players will have Bipasha sharing screen space with actors like Abhishek Bachchan, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bobby Deol.

Bipasha Basu To celebrate Durga Puja with john Abraham

Bollywood hunky man, John Abraham will be joining his girlfriend Bipasha Basu for the upcoming Durga Puja in her native place at Kolkata.

The star will be savouring ‘puchkas’ and visiting the pandals with Bipasha at Ballygunge, where she grew up.

“Yes, I will be celebrating Durga Puja in Kolkata. I had also stayed in Ballygunge for 9 years and I am very attached to that place,” said the actor who is busy promoting his upcoming flick Jhootha Hi Sahi in the capital city Delhi.

“I had a very tight schedule and not much time to spend in Delhi, so I was not able to attend any of the Commonwealth events,” John added.

Linking his real life to reel life, John said that like his character of a liar Sid in Jhootha Hi Sahi, he sometimes lies to Bipasha.

“If I lie it shows on my face. But I think white-lies are ok as long it does not hurt or harm someone,” said the actor.

Bipasha Basu launched Airtel Delhi Half Marathon

The third edition of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon was launched in New Delhi on Tuesday by Sanjay Kapoor, CEO-India, & South Asia, Bharti Airtel.

The marathon is an IAAF 'Gold Label' event and will have Bollywood star Bipasha Basu as the ‘Face of Event’. The marathon was launched in the presence of Hugh Jones, General Secretary of the Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS) and a member of the IAAF Road Running Commission.

The event, to be conducted under the auspices of the Delhi government, is scheduled for November 21, 2010.

Bipasha Basu to form NGo for Kashmiri Orphans

Lamhaa’s run at the box office may have been less than stellar, but the movie has proved to be a life-changing experience for its lead actors.

Bipasha Basu says she is joining hands with director Rahul Dholakia and actor Sanjay Dutt to start an NGO for Kashmiri orphans. “Rahul and Sanjay have already made plans to start an NGO for the children there, mostly orphans. We don’t know the exact details of it yet, but are planning to meet in the next few days to discuss it.”

Speaking at a press conference for Gili jewellery, Basu expressed her desire to host fundraiser events, or just donate a chunk of her earnings to the cause. “As actors, we can either lend our fame to the NGO to help raise funds or donate money ourselves. What these organisations need the most is the money to continue their work,” she insisted.

When contacted, Dholakia expressed his surprise that Basu had revealed their idea, reiterating that plans were still at the drawing board stage. “When Sanju (Dutt) visited the Rahat Manzil orphanage there, he was very touched and decided to start something for the tragedy-striken kids. Most of them have been orphaned by the conflict, among other elements.”

Bipasha feels blessed

Meanwhile, Basu didn’t miss an opportunity to talk about the situation in Kashmir. “The common man on the street doesn’t think he’s Indian,” she recalled. “I’m not even talking about militants or terrorists. And given the way India and Pakistan have just been playing word games at political meets, I don’t think the situation is ever going to change.”

When asked whether she felt the glamour of Bollywood was shallow, after witnessing the Kashmiri conflict, she replied, “I feel blessed to have this life. I got a chance to see the situation for myself and I realised that Kashmiris live in fear every day. I don’t want anyone to have to grow up that way.”

After receiving positive feedback for her feisty performance in last week's release Lamhaa, Bipasha Basu flew to her hometown Kolkata. Besides spending time with her family, the gorgeous babe also had some endorsement commitments to honour.

Bips launched Mahua Bangla, a new channel in Kolkata and the campaign picture has her dressed in typical traditional Bengali attire. Says the Bong babe on Twitter, "In Kolkata to launch mahua bangla, a new channel! That's one of d campaign pix!"

The hot, sexy and sizzling Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu says no to haircut and is in love with her long hair.

The bong beauty even doesn’t have plans to cut down her long and beautiful hair in future. Bipasha said, "I love my hair long, so do my filmmaker."


Bipasha said, “John has to accept me with my long hair. I’m not getting a bob again, at least not in the near future.”

However, her beau John Abraham thinks just the reverse. He finds her more appealing and cool in short hair style. But, Bips seems to be turning a deaf ear towards John’s suggestion and prefers to keep her long hair as it is.

After having heard for the umpteenth time that ‘Dhamaal 2’, is going to be an all men’s extravaganza, reports are now pouring in that the film makers have decided to go for the fairer sex as well.

Actually, according to reports, the director has just confirmed that two actresses have been finalized to be cast in the film, that is bong bombshell Bipasha Basu, and the hot southern beauty Sameera Reddy.Watch the two sizzling sirens create Euphoria on screen.

Sources however reveal that the sudden decision to include women too, had to be taken as the actors in the film, namely, Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi, had requested the director to do so. It is being said that without having any actresses around, the film would lose it’s glamour quotient.

It’s been revealed that the film is based on the real-life honour killings that take place in Bihar, and Bipasha is ditching make-up and is learning to take on an accent to portray a simple Bihari woman in the same.

The news has been confirmed by Rohan who believes that Bipasha’s the perfect fit for the character.

He, however, denied that Bipasha’s character is based on that of Zeenat Aman’s in ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’.

He also clears the air that the film has nothing to do with ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ except for the fact that both contain gangsters, drugs and they are set in Goa.

Bipasha Basu won Top spot in Maxim's Hot 100.

Bengali beauty Bipasha Basu's sultry status has been reaffirmed.


The Bong actress has topped this year's Maxim Hot 100 list, beating last year's winner Deepika Padukone who stands at sixth position this time.


Bipasha credits her Bengali genes for her hot looks and said such things can't be created and come naturally. The 'hot' word has stuck with her, but she feels good about it.
