Ajay Bipasha Rolling Success of All the Best

His film All the Best — Fun Begins... directed by Rohit Shetty, is as fine a Diwali gift to cinegoers as it may get. Slowly, it has picked up steam at the box office and is now laughing its way to the bank. Literally!

“The film didn’t open big on Friday but on Sunday and Monday, it jumped by leaps and bounds — from 30 per cent to 95 per cent,” said trade analyst Amod Mehra. Indeed, because audiences everywhere are having a blast watching the comic timings of Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu, Mugdha Godse, Fardeen Khan and Ajay. “It’s very refreshing. No number of stars given by critics can change the opinion of cinegoers. Once the public says a film’s a hit, then it’s a hit. This film picked up because of word-of-mouth publicity,” added trade analyst Komal Nahta.

Multiplexes are enjoying the post-Diwali ticket sales that this Ajay Devgn Films’ release is fetching them. “On Tuesday, the film did better business than it did on Sunday and Monday. The audience, just like me, was laughing its guts out,” said Ashish Saxena from Reliance BIG Pictures. Devang Sampat from Cinemax attributes the success to Ajay having picked the right script for the festive season. “It’s been a trend where people look for total entertainment during Diwali. They just want to have a good time... I’m expecting this film to do even better in the coming days,” he said.

Not strangely, film critics have given good ratings to this one too. Even Bollywood stars, keeping their own films aside, have been entertained by this comedy. “It’s an honest entertainer and I laughed throughout. I felt happy after watching it,” said hunk John Abraham. Ditto was the reaction of the producer’s wife and beautiful actress Kajol. “I laughed, my daughter Nysa laughed and the whole theatre laughed. And that’s when Diwali started!” she said.

Bipasha impressed by chivalrous Fardeen Khan

The flamboyant Khan has made quite an impression on Bips. John, however, need not worryBipasha Basu was highly impressed by Fardeen Khan while working with him in Ajay Devgan’s home production ‘All The Best’. Though the movie has many stars, it was Fardeen who made the maximum impression on Bips.

Bipasha tells a tabloid: “Fardeen is a very philosophical person, very well-read, intelligent, well-behaved and chivalrous. I found him a most impressive talker.”

The two bonded well during the making of ‘All The Best’ in Goa and Hyderabad. In fact, when Fardeen came to know of Bipasha’s plan to learn belly dancing, he got excited and offered to sponsor her dancing classes. Bipasha, in return, promised to show Fardeen and Ajay her belly dancing moves once she learns it. However, she hasn’t even begun yet.

Shooting for ‘All The Best’ was a welcome change for Bipasha after playing a serious role in Rahul Dholakia’s ‘Lamhaa’, which has got stuck on the floors because of some ego tussle between Dholakia and producer Bunty Walia. A month-long shoot of ‘All The Best’ in Goa followed by a short schedule in Hyderabad has re-energized Bipasha.

Bipasha Basu wants her curves back!

Bipasha Basu has a carnal confession to make: The actor admits that for Indian men, a “voluptuous” woman has always been the ultimate sex symbol and she is in no mood to go against this age-old stereotype. After Hrs has learnt that Bips — who recently went through a rigorous and intense work-out regime to get an athletic body for a commercial — is working hard to get back her sexy curves.
Since Indian men prefer ‘voluptuous women’, Bipasha Basu is working towards bringing back her sexy curves after sporting an athletic body of late.

“Indian men have always preferred curvy, voluptuous women and that’s the way my fans have loved me too. I don’t believe in being thin and unattractive. I think losing your curves makes you undesirable and being thin was never in… I did weight training and kept myself away from all kinds of mithai for a month,” laughs Bipasha, who now plans to take up belly dancing lessons to keep fit rather than lifting weights.

The bong beauty says that she never feels the tag of being sexy weighing heavily on her shoulders. “People have always been referring to me as sexy from the time when I was 17. It’s something that I have grown up with. The tag of being sexy is actually a package of the kind of work you choose to do and the kind of person you are. I would say that sexy is like a personality trait that is inherent in you and not something that you can emulate. So you see, it is something that is naturally in me because being sexy is a part of my personality.”

Bips joining by Dhoni!

Bollywood and cricket always had a connection be it Sangeeta Bijlani or Kim Sharma, both made headlines for dating star cricketers.

It seems dusky beauty Bipasha Basu is also keen on joining the league of women who appreciate cricket. Bollywood hunk John Abraham and Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni are good friends but John's lady Biapsha is all praises for Dhoni.

The actress has recently shot a commercial with Mahi in Hong Kong. Eversince the shoot wrapped up the bong beauty can't stop raving about the cricket stud.

Bipasha in Kannada?

Actor director Prem is juggling three projects, of which two are as director: Puneeth Rajkumar starrer Raj the Showman and Jogi's sequel Jogayya produced by his wife Rakshita and Adda, with which he returns to acting. The story of Adda has been written by him. The movie will be directed by one his associates.

Prem says Adda will be like an English movie and he is all set to get into the hero mould, six pack and all! Prem's rendevous with acting has not been very pleasant. Preethi Eke Bhoomi Melidhe, his debut as actor, failed at the box office. The highlight of the film was Mallika Sherawat's item song. Prem is planning to continue the trend with Adda. It is Bipasha Basu this time. If the dusky Bong agrees, this will be her first Kannada film.

John is foolish: Bipasha Basu

Bollywood hunk John Abraham fractured his foot while shooting a day-long cricket match for David Dhawan's Hook Ya Crook and he will sport a cast for a month. The actor says it won't affect any of his films' shooting.

"I really wouldn't like to talk about it. But yes I'm in a lot of pain. Fortunately, no film is going to get affected," said John, who met with the accident recently.

A close friend of the actor says that he continued shooting despite the fracture.

"The hard ball shot straight through the air and bang into John's right foot and he heard a distinct crack. John knew something had gone awfully wrong in his foot. But he continued shooting throughout the day because he didn't want to disrupt David's schedule which required special permission for outdoor shooting," the friend said.

It was only after the day's shooting that John, by then cringing in pain, sat down to examine the damage.

"The foot had swollen to twice its normal size. It wasn't just a pulled muscle or a torn ligament as John had hoped. It was a fracture. And by playing cricket on the injured foot John made it worse," said the friend.

After pack up, John walked to his car, drove off to the doctor who finally told him what he suspected the whole day. Now his foot is in a cast for a month.

Fortunately, for the actor there's no shooting to be completed. The next one month is devoted to acting workshops for Abbas Tyrewala which he can somehow limp through.

John's girlfriend Bipasha feels he shouldn't have continued shooting with injured foot.

"It's sad. But John was foolish to keep on playing when his foot was hurt instead of getting it checked," she said.

Last week has been tough on the actor.

"He was down with a severe viral fever followed by the whole unsavoury link up with Katrina Kaif. Then John lost his uncle. And now his foot is fractured. Hopefully, this is the climax of his crises," said his friend.
