Sammir bowled over by Bips
He just can't stop admiring Corporate co-star Bipasha Basu's looks. "Isn't she looking hot minus make-up? She is looking hotter than she does in her hot outfits," says Sammir Dattani. Bipasha plays his boss in the film and "what a hot boss to have around", he says.
"I told Madhur (Bhandarkar) to come up with an idea so that we can work together," says Sammir, who plays a middle-level executive in Bhandarkar's film. "It is the film for her (Bipasha). It was fun working with her — she played pranks and the loudest voice on the sets was always hers," he says.
Sammir plays a character close to his heart. "A young man with a dream in his eyes gets embroiled in the world of paisa, power and politics," says the actor.
It's not hard work that matters at the end of the day. The man's moralities are shaken," says Sammir, who was in a Valentine's Day music video with Raima Sen and debuted in Bollywood in 2004 with Rajshri's Uff Kya Jadoo Mohabbat Hai.
Corporate also features an office romance with Minissha Lamba.
Sammir's debut film didn't do too well. His next venture, Pyaar Mein Twist, also failed to impress the audience. But the actor seems to have got the role he wanted.
Working with Bhandarkar was enjoyable. "He keeps everybody very jovial," says Sammir. "The film is about characters," says Sammir, who isn't worried about getting noticed in an ensemble cast of Bipasha, Kay Kay Menon, Lilette Dubey, Raj Babbar and Rajat Kapoor, among others.
Sammir now has Mani Shankar's Mukhbir, Nisha Chainani's Marathon and Apoorva Lakhia's Shoot Out At Lokhandwala in hand.
The actor, whose family's business still has its headquarters in Kolkata, is proud of his Bong connection — Mukhbir with Raima, Marathon with Chitrita Mitra and a Hindi film with Rituparno Ghosh. "But I can't talk about it," he says.
