Bipasha Basu summer sultry at Tarun Mansukhani's birthday bash

Bipasha Basu looked hot but not well toned in a black single shoulder dress at Tarun Mansukhani's birthday party on April 16 at Bandra residence of the Dostana director.

She was accompanied by long term beau John Abraham who arrived separately in his Audi.

Bipasha's bubbled dress was accented with a rose on the shoulder. She accessorized with black strappy heels, black clutch, red bracelet on her left arm and a rock in her engagement finger, perhaps a commitment ring.

The 30-year-old Bongshell admits that John has given her that ring but denies it to be an engagement ring.

Her bob cut has given away to shoulder length hair which were parted in the middle with bottom waves. She rounded her looks with smoked out eyes and pink lips.

John wore a designer-wear distressed grey sweatshirt with faded blue cargo jeans and sported signature stubble and gelled tousled hair.

Bipasha posed in a black bikini for Filmare’s April 2009 issue. At a press event to launch it she said her being sexy is really her personality.

We are sure she would look even sexier if she relied on regular gymming as much as her personality.

The star studded party included: couple Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder, Ritesh Deshmukh in his India 24/7 makeover, Bobby Deol - who avoided the media, Manish Malhotra - who walked in with a friend and Dostana producer Karan Johar, Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor who walked in the last.

Bipasha becomes more conscious abt her look

Bollywood’s curvy diva Bipasha Basu says she’s become conscious of what looks good on her and what doesn’t.

Females, and particularly actresses, are said to be very conscious of their looks. For Bipasha, who many would unhesitatingly vouch is the hottest looker in tinsel town, it is something she has learnt with time and experience. From bikinis to sarees, the actress today claims she is conscious of what looks good on her.

"Nowadays, I take a lot of interest in the way I look. I've become conscious of what suits me. I won’t do anything that I don't follow or don't feel comfortable in," said the actress who took active interest in her styling in her last release Aa Dekhen Zara .

Not just clothes, Bipasha is also well aware of her body and its proportions and how it affects the choreography in songs.

"I've extra-long limbs. So I need steps that don't dwarf the other dancers. I understand all that now…Fortunately, we've such capable choreographers. They know I'm not a professional dancer. So they give me movements that are fun, more me," Bipasha is quoted by a news agency.

Beyond her looks, choreography and even acting, Bipasha is now thinking of turning director.

"I've learnt on the job. I now understand script, character, choreography and camera angles. So I guess I do see myself directing a film because I know I'll be fantastic with things from behind the camera," said the actress who’s dabbling with some arthouse cinema in films like Lamha and Pankh .

After Kareena its Bip's skirt Malfunction

Bipasha Basu is the hot favorite of Bollywood. Her latkas and jhatkas are very popular now-a-days and guys love to groove along with her dance numbers. Recently, while performing at the Music awards function of 70’s, the dusky beauty had to face an embarrassing moment when something went wrong with her skirt and the prop with what she was performing. The actress did not know what to do at the last moment but despite all these problems Bipasha being a professional that she did not let it hamper her performance. The actress had to change her costumes in between the dance performances but she took it all in her stride. She carried the entire show with grace and managed to enthrall the audiences without giving a hint that she was upset with the costumes".

Bips neither made a hue and cry over her wardrobe nor blamed anyone for the malfunction rather showed her utter confidence to tackle any odd situation smoothly and successfully.

Bipasha Next in League to get Tatooed

Believe it or not! Actress Bipasha Basu is now in love with tattoo. The latest reports suggest that the actress got tattoo for Ranbir Kapoor, who acted with her in Bachna Ae Haseeno.

Bipasha said, “You see, Ranbir and I watched a Angelina Jolie film and her tattoo then became the topic of discussion.”

“Ranbir told me that I should get a tattoo just like Angie’s and that it would look good on me. Now, I’m not the tattoo types. I’m scared of getting one and second how will the tattoo look when I’m old and wrinkled?” the sexy actress added.

When asked about romancing younger heores, the actress really doesn’t think she deserves a ‘bravery award. Bipasha shared screen space with Neil Nitin Mukhesh in Aa Dekhen Zara.

“As soon as I knew I was playing a DJ in the movie, I knew I could go wild with my look,” says the actor.

Bipasha fulfills her watery dream

Remember Bipasha Basu’s debut film Jism where she sizzled on the beach? She had certainly sent the temperature soaring. The sultry seductress once again got into a sexy bikini for Dhoom 2 and left everyone awe struck as she emerged from the water.

Interestingly, very few know that Bipasha doesn’t know swimming in real life. But one instance in her life made her decide to learn the sport. It can be recalled that while shooting for Shikhar , starring her, Ajay Devgan, Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao, Bipasha had to perform a water stunt along with Shahid. Apparently, she fell off from the boat and was saved from drowning by the people out there. The scary incident made the actress decide to learn swimming.

According to a close friend of Bipasha, she has always been fond of water and water sports. She also featured in a song in the film Aankhen, water kayaking with Akshay Kumar. But seldom did Bipasha enjoy herself as she did not know swimming.

Unfortunately, due to her hectic schedules, she never got the time to learn it. But now that Bips is on break with the 2 week delay in her movie, All The Best , she is using this time to learn swimming.

Bipasha will be joining the crew of All The Best on 23 rd of this month in Goa. “Though she loves water she has always been out of the water as she did not know swimming but now Bipasha wants to be in water and enjoy herself. She is using this break to learn swimming. She is excited that she will be able to enjoy the beaches in Goa,” revealed Bipasha’s friend.

Bipasha Basu unveiled the latest Filmfare issue on Monday April 6th night at Vie Lounge, Juhu, Mumbai. Following the trend of inviting the cover dominating celeb to unveil their latest issue, Filmfare had Bipasha coming in for a brief appearance. The new issue of Filmfare has Bips striking quiet a raunchy pose on the cover.

While interacting the with media, Bipasha admitted she found Ranbir Kapoor hottest amongst men. Well we wonder if she has stopped finding boyfriend John Abraham hot anymore! Just few days back another hottie to proclaim Ranbir Kapoor very hot was Katrina Kaif. While don’t know what was Ranbir’s reaction to it, we can imagine Salman Khan tearing his hair out.

Bipasha Basu on ramp at Kolkata fashion week scans

Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu on Saturday walked ramp on the third day of ongoing Kolkata Fashion Week (KFW) here.

Basu, dressed as quintessential Bengali bride, stole the show with her showstopper act for fashion designer duo Mona-Pali.

“What I love about this particular outfit tonight is it has the essence of our culture. At the same time it is very modern. It is for the modern Indian women. We are using the artistry, which is from our roots, but at the same time we are presenting the Indian women in various shades. I am very happy with the kind of work people are doing,” Basu said.

Designer duo Mona-Pali showcased eclectic mix of Indian culture combine with contemporary silhouettes and textures based on Indian art and craft traditions.

Another Bollywood actor Sagarika Ghatke of the Bollywood movie ‘Chak De India’ fame, walked the ramp for designer Soumitra Mondal.

Soumitra’s collection was very much inspired by Indian art, culture and textile. He used fine cotton, linen, rich traditional silk and hand woven fabric for his work.

The theme of the KFW has been ‘Return to Roots’ in tune with the United Nation’s Food and Agricultural Organisation declaring 2009 as the ‘International Year of Natural Fibre’.

The KFW focuses on the cultural heritage of Bengal region, especially that of the handloom weavers.

At least 35 of the country’s top models will sashay down the ramp during the four-day show that concludes on Sunday.

Bipasha Basu want to Direct

The hot and sizzling Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu, who has just spent nine years in the industry and now she feels that she has enough knowledge of cinema and can take on film direction.

Bipasha don’t only want to be a floor-burning sizzler forever, instead wants to use her experience of the film industry.

“I’ve learned on the job. I now understand script, character, choreography, camera angles. So, I guess I do see myself directing a film,” says Bipasha.

“I know I’ll be fantastic with things from behind the camera,” adds Bipasha.

Talking about her style mantra, Bipasha adds, “Nowadays I take more interest in the way I look. I’ve become conscious of what suits me. I won’t do anything that I don’t follow or don’t feel comfortable in. Fortunately we have such capable choreographers. They know I’m not a professional dancer. So, they give me movements that are fun and more me. I understand all that now.”

Bipasha Basu most experimental dresser

He has dressed Bollywood divas like Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, but designer Gavin Miguel says Bipasha Basu outshines them all when it comes to experimental dressing. She will surprise everyone with her new look in forthcoming film "Pankh", he predicts.

"She gives me complete freedom when it comes to dressing her up. She is very experimental and tries to change her look in every movie. The best part is that she carries herself so well that everything looks good on her," Miguel told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

Miguel is styling Bipasha for Sudipto Chattopadhyaya's "Pankh", in which she plays an imaginary character. The designer admits that he initially had thought Bipasha was "broad-framed", but his perception changed after working with her.

"Initially I felt Bipasha was broad-framed but after I worked with her, I realised the fact that she has lost a lot of weight and now is svelte and sexy," he said.

The Mumbai-based designer says Bipasha's look in the movie would be a total surprise package.

"This time you will see Bipasha in a new avatar as she plays an imaginary character. She has a completely new look," Miguel said.

The designer has been in the industry for over 10 years now but he hogged the limelight with Madhur Bhandarkar's "Fashion" in which he dressed up the three leading ladies - Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Mugdha Godse.
"Yes, it gave me exposure, but fortunately people in the industry knew me already because I let my work speak for me. I make customised clothes and whosoever I dress up, they buy my clothes and this is my major source of income," Miguel quipped.

Miguel had also dressed Tabu and Priyanka Chopra at the recently held 54th Filmfare awards.

Besides "Fashion", the designer has showcased his work in movies like "Road", "Kaante", "Dhoom", "Dhoom 2" and "Drona", among others.

Surprisingly, Miguel, who is over 30 years old, hasn't participated in any of the fashion weeks as he believes there is a right time for everything.

"Participating in fashion weeks will surely happen but only at the right time," he said.

His work, he says, is his passion and he believes that bonding with one's client is very important while dressing them up.

"Understanding your client and bonding with them is the foundation of this business. You need to have a good rapport with them. The other important thing is that you have to understand their body type, understand their personality and then design accordingly," Miguel explained.

"It is similar when we design for a Bollywood movie. A lot of hard work goes into every single dress because we have to keep so many things in mind," he added.
