Bipasha opts out of Bachchans' world tour
Is all well with Bipasha Basu? Signs are that she is outpricing herself out of the market. First, she alienated Abbas-Mustan by doing the hoity toity number on them.
She rejected a film being produced by them even though the duo gave her a fresh lease of life with a scene-stealing role in Race.
The success status of Race, in fact, seems to have gone to her head. It has also affected her equations with a group associated with world concert shows. And last but not the least, the Bachchans aren’t exactly Bips fans any more.
Suddenly too demanding
Reportedly, Basu had signed an agreement with Wizcraft for the Bachchan family concert tour before the release of Race. When it clicked, she immediately wanted a hike on her fee which had already been negotiated and settled.
After much to-and-froing, Wizcraft dropped her from the concert. Basu has not responded to calls for a clarification on the subject. Meanwhile, Sabbas Joseph, director of Wizcraft Entertainment, confirms the report about the parting of ways with Bipasha for the tour.
Unprofessional attitude
Joseph states, “It is a Wizcraft perspective which is shared by Mr (Amitabh) Bachchan. We believe that only artistes who are delighted to be a part of the Unforgettable Tour should be with us. The tour has been designed to create happy, memorable experiences for Indian cinema fans across the world.”
Obviously peeved by La Basu, Joseph states quite categorically, “Bipasha wanted financial changes in an already-committed, signed and sealed deal. We felt she was wrong and unethical. We did not agree with her. Hence she chose to send us a note, seeking termination of the contract.”
