Bipasha and John celebrates Durga Puja

The actress was so furious that she had to be whisked away by John Abraham, who had accompanied her for Durga Puja celebrations

When Bipasha Basu, a true-blue Bengali decided to take part in the on-going Durga Puja festivities with boyfriend John Abraham, the last thing she expected was to be sexually groped by a sick minded stranger. The actress had a horrifying time when she was at The North Bombay Sarvojonin Durga Puja at Santacruz on Saturday evening. Not one to take things lying down, Bipasha was furious when John took her away from the scene. Incidentally, this Durga Puja pandal is now being managed by Rani Mukerji’s family.

Commenting on what exactly happened, a source present at the event said, “Bipasha and John came together for the Durga Puja in the evening and Bipasha was very excited as has always been part of Durga Pujas in Mumbai over the years. Just after the darshan, she was near the stage when someone pervert groped her breasts. Bipasha, of course, was taken aback and flew into a fit of rage. People around her tried to calm her down. John too was present there and he whisked her away to calm her down. She even wanted to lodge a police complaint. However, she had second thoughts. As for the sick man, he quietly and promptly ran away, taking advantage of the commotion.”

Despite repeated attempts, John and Bipasha remained unavailable for comment.

Bipasha Basu won Top spot in Maxim's Hot 100.

Bengali beauty Bipasha Basu's sultry status has been reaffirmed.


The Bong actress has topped this year's Maxim Hot 100 list, beating last year's winner Deepika Padukone who stands at sixth position this time.


Bipasha credits her Bengali genes for her hot looks and said such things can't be created and come naturally. The 'hot' word has stuck with her, but she feels good about it.


On second spot is Transformers star Megan Fox, while Katrina Kaif is third on the list. The top 10 list has Kareena Kapoor at 4th place,Priyanka Chopra standing at 5th place and Freida Pinto put at 7th position and Mallika Sherawat is at 10th.

Bipasha Basu plays Mandodari in Mani Ratan's "Raavan"

The dusky bong beauty, Bipasha Basu has stepped into Mani Ratnam’s Raavan star cast.

She is playing Mandodari, a character that Nayanthara was approached to do earlier. This character is a pivotal role in the film and she has an item song and also a few scenes. Bipasha has given almost 20 days inspite of her busy schedule, as she was keen to be a part of a Mani Ratnam film.

Raavan unit is currently shooting near Mumbai and Bipasha will join the unit by September 15. The buzz is that the actress had agreed to do the film, a month back, but on Mani’s strict instructions, Bips was not allowed to talk about it.

So it remains a mystery why Suhasini called up Nayanthara who was shooting abroad for Aadhavan and ask for dates? Sources close to Bipasha says that her costumes are ready and she is very happy and looking forward to working in the film.
