John not a mediator between Bipasha and Katrina

The rumor mills of B-Town were spinning the news of an ongoing affair between the beautiful Katrina Kaif and John Abraham recently. This is especially interesting in light of the animosity between the sultry Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif.
Now John was recently asked in an interview if he would try and finish this hostility between his love Bips and ‘New York’ co-star Katz.

All John had to say was, “I am not here to play the role of a mediator. Bipasha is a grown up, mature woman. So is Katrina Kaif. They are both experienced enough to sort out their own issues. I was there to play the character assigned to me in the film and not to act as a mediator between Katrina and Bipasha.”

Even Katrina had similar views when asked if she would try and bridge the differences between beau Salman and John.


Katz and John are always found praising each others’ performance in their upcoming movie. They got along well during the shooting of the movie too.

But John has always tried and kept his professional and personal life as separate as possible from each other.

Bipasha To Play prostitute of Sonagachi

After making her play a child’s fantasy woman in ‘Pankh’, the movie’s director wants Bipasha Basu to play a prostitute in his next film on sex workers of Kolkata.

Director Sudipto Chattopadhyay’s controversial movie Pankh is yet to release and he has already begun working on his other project on the lives of prostitutes in the brothels of Sonagachi, Asia’s oldest and largest red-light area situated in the north of Kolkata. According to a source, the film is also titled ‘Sonagachi’.

The news is that after working with Bipasha in ‘Pankh’, Sudipto is highly impressed by the actress, and offered her the lead role in ‘Sonagachi’. Bips is likely to play a prostitute who looks after a child, a victim of pedophilia. She helps this kid lead a normal life.

Sudipto is not ready to disclose the actress’s name, but when talking to a tabloid he did say that a big star will essay the protagonist. He confirmed that the movie is about the lives of sex workers in Sonagachi, their trials and tribulations. He has even shot for some scenes in the area during Durga Puja celebrations and has roped in real-life prostitutes to play themselves in the flick.

Bipasha’s first film with Sudipto, ‘Pankh’, is about a 20-year-old boy, played by Maradona Rebello, who is confused about his sexual identity because as a child he was made to dress up as girl to act in films. Bipasha plays his fantasy woman.

Bipasha Basu to dig deep for next role

After portraying an unconventional character in Pankh, the actress is yet another working with director Sudipto Chattopadhyaya. This time Bips would be playing a prostitute living in Kolkata’s largest red light area called Sonagachi.

In the movie, Bipasha nurses a child, who is a victim of pedophilia. Sudipto is leaving no stones unturned to make his movie as realistic as possible. The grapevine suggests that the filmmaker has roped in some real-life prostitutes who will play themselves in the movie.

Pankh narrates a story about a little boy in the film industry who masquerades as a girl to become a child star but later faces an identity crisis and eventually turns into a drug abuser.

Bipasha Basu has a carnal confession to make: The actor admits that for Indian men, a “voluptuous” woman has always been the ultimate sex symbol and she is in no mood to go against this age-old stereotype. After Hrs has learnt that Bips — who recently went through a rigorous and intense work-out regime to get an athletic body for a commercial — is working hard to get back her sexy curves.
Since Indian men prefer ‘voluptuous women’, Bipasha Basu is working towards bringing back her sexy curves after sporting an athletic body of late.

“Indian men have always preferred curvy, voluptuous women and that’s the way my fans have loved me too. I don’t believe in being thin and unattractive. I think losing your curves makes you undesirable and being thin was never in… I did weight training and kept myself away from all kinds of mithai for a month,” laughs Bipasha, who now plans to take up belly dancing lessons to keep fit rather than lifting weights.

The bong beauty says that she never feels the tag of being sexy weighing heavily on her shoulders. “People have always been referring to me as sexy from the time when I was 17. It’s something that I have grown up with. The tag of being sexy is actually a package of the kind of work you choose to do and the kind of person you are. I would say that sexy is like a personality trait that is inherent in you and not something that you can emulate. So you see, it is something that is naturally in me because being sexy is a part of my personality.”

Bipasha swims in the dark

You may have heard of actors swimming under the moonlight.

But have you heard of swimming in floodlit pools? But Bipasha Basu is different. The actress and the female members of her staff — including her two dress designers and her hairdresser actually prefer to swim in the dark. In Goa, where they are currently shooting for All The Best, the dusky beauty waits till it is dark and then she and her entourage head towards the hotel’s swimming pool so that no one takes notice of them.

“If there are lights on around the pool, we switch those off too,” says Bipasha who doesn’t wish to be disturbed when she is swimming. This is one dark secret Bipasha has no problems sharing with the world.

Bollywood and cricket always had a connection be it Sangeeta Bijlani or Kim Sharma, both made headlines for dating star cricketers.

It seems dusky beauty Bipasha Basu is also keen on joining the league of women who appreciate cricket. Bollywood hunk John Abraham and Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni are good friends but John's lady Biapsha is all praises for Dhoni.

The actress has recently shot a commercial with Mahi in Hong Kong. Eversince the shoot wrapped up the bong beauty can't stop raving about the cricket stud.

Bipasha in Kannada?

Actor director Prem is juggling three projects, of which two are as director: Puneeth Rajkumar starrer Raj the Showman and Jogi's sequel Jogayya produced by his wife Rakshita and Adda, with which he returns to acting. The story of Adda has been written by him. The movie will be directed by one his associates.

Prem says Adda will be like an English movie and he is all set to get into the hero mould, six pack and all! Prem's rendevous with acting has not been very pleasant. Preethi Eke Bhoomi Melidhe, his debut as actor, failed at the box office. The highlight of the film was Mallika Sherawat's item song. Prem is planning to continue the trend with Adda. It is Bipasha Basu this time. If the dusky Bong agrees, this will be her first Kannada film.

John is foolish: Bipasha Basu

Bollywood hunk John Abraham fractured his foot while shooting a day-long cricket match for David Dhawan's Hook Ya Crook and he will sport a cast for a month. The actor says it won't affect any of his films' shooting.

"I really wouldn't like to talk about it. But yes I'm in a lot of pain. Fortunately, no film is going to get affected," said John, who met with the accident recently.

A close friend of the actor says that he continued shooting despite the fracture.

"The hard ball shot straight through the air and bang into John's right foot and he heard a distinct crack. John knew something had gone awfully wrong in his foot. But he continued shooting throughout the day because he didn't want to disrupt David's schedule which required special permission for outdoor shooting," the friend said.

It was only after the day's shooting that John, by then cringing in pain, sat down to examine the damage.

"The foot had swollen to twice its normal size. It wasn't just a pulled muscle or a torn ligament as John had hoped. It was a fracture. And by playing cricket on the injured foot John made it worse," said the friend.

After pack up, John walked to his car, drove off to the doctor who finally told him what he suspected the whole day. Now his foot is in a cast for a month.

Fortunately, for the actor there's no shooting to be completed. The next one month is devoted to acting workshops for Abbas Tyrewala which he can somehow limp through.

John's girlfriend Bipasha feels he shouldn't have continued shooting with injured foot.

"It's sad. But John was foolish to keep on playing when his foot was hurt instead of getting it checked," she said.

Last week has been tough on the actor.

"He was down with a severe viral fever followed by the whole unsavoury link up with Katrina Kaif. Then John lost his uncle. And now his foot is fractured. Hopefully, this is the climax of his crises," said his friend.
