Bipasha Basu to debut in Bengali Cinema

Bengali beauty and acclaimed Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu is all set to make her debut in Bengali cinema. Bipasha's maiden Bengali movie will be directed by much sought after director Rituparno Gosh. The movie film - 'Saab Choritro Kalpanik' meaning - all characters fictitious will also be featuring Bengali matinee idol Prasanjit Chatterjee, who is a tad shorter than Bipasha. The crew gave a media briefing in India's eastern Kolkata recently to give the details about the movie.

Bipasha Basu Chills in Goa On Her Birthday

Bipasha Basu celebrated her birthday yesterday with beau John Abraham in Goa. The actress took a break from work and shootings to spend the day relaxing and rejuvenating herself. Bips spent the day lounging on the beaches and taking in the sun. Bips also plans to have a small get together the next day in Mumbai with family and close friends. Meanwhile another Bong beauty Koena Mitra too celebrated her birthday yesterday.

Bipasha and John spent her birthday in Goa and she said “I’ll spend the day on the beach, visit the spa and tuck into Goan food.” However she also wants to have another day of celebration with her family and close friends. Bips said “I am back in Mumbai on Tuesday to celebrate my birthday again with my parents and friends.” Bips is looking forward to indulging in her mom’s home cooked delicious gajar ka halwa as a special treat.

Koena Mitra too celebrated her birthday yesterday and although she was away from her family, she had good friend Tanushree Dutta who made her day special. Although it is extremely hard to believe two actresses are good friends, Tanushree confirms that since Koena is her best friend she naturally has plans to make her birthday memorable. Tanushree said “Me and a few other friends will go to her house to bring in her birthday. Then after our celebrations we’ll crash out at Koena’s house. Then during the day we have little surprises planted for Koena all over the house.” Other actresses who celebrated their birthday were Vidya Balan on 1st January and Deepika Padukone on 5 January. While Vidya spent the day relaxing with family, Deepika spent the day with cricketer Yuvraj Singh in Australia. Saif Ali Khan and his good friend (for a brief period only) Bipasha Basu, have shot a steamy song and scene in Race.

Bipasha, who has previously done steamy scenes with John Abraham in Raaz says she is quite comfortable shooting for sizzling scenes, “As long as I know what I am supposed to do and am not uncomfortable with it, I can do any scene.

If there is any remote discomfort for me, then I won’t do it. I am not an inhibited person. In today’s times, one can’t feel awkward about any scene during shooting as we are given the entire story and screenplay in advance before the shoot commences.”

It’s intimate!

She doesn’t think there should be a lot of stress on her sizzling film as, “The whole film is sizzling!’ Bipasha laughs, “Anil (Kapoor) is looking the hottest and the best.

There lot of intimate scenes not just between Saif and me but between all the characters too.

The chemistry between Saif and me is sizzling in the film but so it is also between Akshaye Khanna and Katrina Kaif and other actors. It’s like international thrillers where the plot has certain levels of intimacy.”

Bipasha reveals that she’s been getting a great response to her look styled by Anahita Shroff in the Race song, “People are saying I am looking hot and fit, and that’s terrific because I was not even ready to be that fit.”

If verything goes well, Bollywood star Bipasha Basu is going to be the next Bollywood actress after Aiswarya Rai to step into a major Hollywood film. Recently she has received a proposal from California based international manager Simone Sheffield-the same guy who put Aiswarya Rai on to the Hollywood-while she was in Lisbon for the New Seven Wonders of The World event. Bipasha was presented with three scripts by the manager.

It was Ambika Pillai-a hair specialist- who suggested Bipasha’s name to the manager and when asked by the manager if she can pull it off, she has readily responded that "one hundred per cent Bipasha can"

According to Simone, Bipasha was presented three scripts so far.” I read her one script there itself and I will be reading her the other during this weekend. She is articulate, charming and full of potential and fits in perfectly, then I spoke to her on the phone and she readily agreed. Bipasha did a fantastic job there and the world loved it. She looked absolutely stunning in her Rocky S creation."

It is clear that Simone is greatly impressed by the charm and talent of the young Bollywood hottie and she even collected the names of Bipasha's favourite stars in Hollywood. In her words "She gave me her favourite names of stars in Hollywood like Johnny Deep, Sean Penn, Mathew McConaughey and even Susan Sarandon. I will work out things here keeping this in mind."

According to Simone, one of the three proposed movies will feature a big Hollywood male star in the lead role and a major Hollywood studio will be producing the movie. If that happens, that is going to be the strongest entry of any Bollywood actress to Hollywood till date. Now that almost everything is set for Bip’s Hollywood entry, one thing that is left to agree upon is the date availability of the star. How soon Bipasha will step into Hollywood will depend on this one factor.

Simone and her associates are all set to help Bipasha in her big Hollywood debut. She said "As far as I am concerned, Bipasha can come here tomorrow! But she has commitments in Bollywood that may take about six months to complete. Once that done, I'm ready to take on her venture in Hollywood completely. In the meantime, congratulations on Taj Mahal being elected as one of the new Seven Wonders of the World!"

Bipasha's New Year starts with a fat deal

Bipasha Basu is one of the highest paid Bollywood performers at the New Year celebrations this year.

Earlier reports said that as a part of the New Year’s evening bash at a suburban five-star hotel, Bipasha would be getting 90 lakh rupees for her much-hyped performance. But contrary to the reports, she may not be getting RS 90 lakh as cash.

According to the sources, Bipasha may not be going home with the whopping 90 lakh rupee. It appears that the actress will be paid a lump sum amount close to RS 75 lakh. The rest of the amount will be paid in kind. A reliable source from the hotel confirms this by saying, “We have struck a deal with Bipasha that includes cash and services at our hotel. She is definitely not getting paid RS 90 lakh.”

Apart from the 75 lakh rupee, Bipasha has also demanded free memberships at the gymnasium, pool, and the relaxation area. Hence Bipasha Basu would be enjoying other services and special discounts at all restaurants, suites and discotheque of the hotel from January 2008.

In addition Bipasha will also get a special unique bedding package. The bedding package to ensure that Bipasha stays warm and comfortable includes mattress topper made of the best material, three different sets of pillows and duvet. A member from the housekeeping unit of the hotel says about the bedding package as, “The special bedding package is very unique to our hotel. The pillows and duvet are made of special duck feathers and goose down.” But the hotel authorities refused to comment on their deal with Bipasha.

John Bipasha may get engaged in Jan!

New Delhi, Jan 02: If reports from the tinsel town are supposed to be believed, actor John Abraham may soon tie the knot with long time girlfriend Bipasha Basu.

These Bollywood biggies have been dating since 2002 and are reportedly planning to get engaged by the beginning of January 2008.

According to sources Both are very close to their families. Recently, their parents met and discussed about solemnizing their relationship by exchanging rings.
